Golden year as Scalby Lodge scoops five more awards
The Duchy of Lancaster’s Scalby Lodge holiday cottages have been awarded five Gold Awards by holiday rental website, Cottages4You.
Five properties on the Duchy’s tourism site, Mulgrave, Fortescue, Fell, Harrowby and The Barn, were each recognised by the independent online broker, which acknowledged the exemplary quality, facilities and services offered.
A Gold Award is given to properties which are consistently described as “excellent” in customer surveys and achieve an average score of at least 9.5 out of ten on Reevoo, an independent customer satisfaction and review website.
Jayne Pickup, general manager at Scalby Lodge, said: “We’re extremely proud to have achieved a Gold Award rating by Cottages4You, placing Scalby Lodge among the top 15 per cent of all properties listed on the company’s website. The team and I work hard to maintain the highest standards and deliver first class service to all of our guests and receiving recognition such as this is a real honour.”
The latest awards provide further cause for celebration for Scalby Lodge which received five star ratings by Visit Britain’s Quality in Tourism scheme earlier this year and a nomination at Yorkshire’s White Rose Awards.
The Duchy of Lancaster invested £3 million in an extensive refurbishment and expansion of the Scalby Lodge site in 2012, resulting in a 15-property development of self-catering luxury holiday cottages ranging from a one bedroomed cottage through to a five bedroomed spacious barn.
