Developing in Partnership with Bloor Homes
The Duchy of Lancaster in partnership with Bloor Homes is to bring much-needed new homes to Wollaston in Northamptonshire.
The Duchy has made 6.3 hectares of development land at Hookhams Path available for housing and Bloor Homes has secured planning approval for the construction of 98 new homes on the site. The new development will include a wide variety of accommodation from smaller starter homes and terraced properties to bungalows and large detached family homes. Around 40 per cent of the total dwellings will be available as affordable housing including options for shared ownership. All properties will be built and finished to a high level specification.
The approved scheme also includes a community woodland, a large children’s play area and appropriately landscaped public open space.
Commenting on the project, Duchy Head of Project management Graeme Chalk said: “We are very keen to support local authorities who need to build more housing for their communities wherever we can. The Duchy believes firmly that any new housing should enhance the surrounding environment and reflect the character of the local architecture and heritage. The design proposals were unanimously approved by members of the planning committee and we look forward to working with Bloor Homes to deliver a high quality scheme which responds to the needs of local people.”
This is the Duchy of Lancaster’s first partnership with Bloor Homes, a family owned business and the UK’s largest privately owned housebuilder.
“At Bloor we pride ourselves on the quality of our homes and our attention to detail,” added David Joseph, Senior Planning Director. “Our customer satisfaction rate is very important to us and something we monitor closely on all our developments. Hookhams Path is no exception and we look forward to working with the Duchy of Lancaster to deliver well designed, high quality homes that will stand the test of time.”
The new development is expected to start on site in 2021 with completion in 2023.
