Mr Clive Johnson is a highly accomplished Health & Safety Risk professional with 15 years’ experience in the property sector. His expertise lies in helping blue-chip organisations develop positive corporate cultures focused on health, safety and wellbeing and developing the right environments to enable people to thrive. Clive is the past President of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM) and chaired the Health & Safety Executive’s Managing Risk Well Working Group for five years. He also sits on the Health in Construction Leadership Group, BuildUK Health and Safety Group, Construction Clients Leadership Group and the UK Property Forum. In 2018, Clive was awarded the Freedom of the City of London for his work and contribution to health, safety and security across the capital.
Commenting on the appointment, Duchy Chief Executive Nathan Thompson CVO said: “I’m delighted that Clive has agreed to join us as our non-executive Chair of Health & Safety. We believe that health and safety should be at the forefront of all of our minds and that means embedding best practice across every area of the business. Clive will work with our in-house Head of Health & Safety Graeme Chalk as well as other members of the senior team to review our progress to date, challenge any assumptions we have made along the way and develop our critical thinking. We look forward to learning from him as part of our ongoing journey of continuous development and improvement.”
Clive Johnson will begin working with the Duchy team from 1st September 2022 and will initially focus on establishing a dedicated Health & Safety Committee for the organisation while reviewing current policies and practices.
