Healthy Live-Work Environment in Cheshire
In 2010, the Duchy developed a series of disused barns and farm buildings set in 3.12 acres of parkland adjacent to historic Crewe Hall in Cheshire. This sensitive restoration scheme created 27,000 sq ft of high quality office accommodation in the middle of the open countryside which preserved the architectural heritage of the original listed buildings while repurposing them for a contemporary use.
Energy conservation measures were built into the design from the outset, with thermal modelling techniques used to maximise the energy efficiency of the buildings. Office suites were designed to allow for upscaling so that starter companies based here could grow their business but remain on site. Tenants were also actively encouraged to use the grounds as additional open-air space, supporting a greener working environment and healthy work-life balance.
This combination of flexible interior layouts, efficient running costs, discreet on-site parking and green open spaces within a spacious rural setting has proved popular. Over the years, Crewe Hall Farm Buildings has become an established and desirable address for a diverse range of local businesses and last year we added to its appeal by installing EV chargers on site to accommodate more sustainable travel options.
Our team of commercial surveyors are now developing proposals for the enhanced landscaping of the grounds. Initial proposals include the planting of new shrubs and trees, restocking of flower beds and planting around parking bays, and the introduction of an edible apple orchard. A new Coronation Avenue is also being created along the entrance approach.
The latest plans are designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the buildings, showcase the natural environment and provide an appropriate setting for these restored buildings while continuing to support the health and wellbeing of the 160 individuals currently based here.
There is currently only one small unit (795 sq ft) available to let at Crewe Hall Farm Buildings. Anyone interested is invited to contact lettings agent Legat Owen on 01244 725429 for details.
